Meditation and dharma talk with Akāliko Bhikkhu

  • Don Bank Museum 6 Napier Street North Sydney, NSW, 2060 Australia (map)

Join us for a meditation and dharma talk, to be presented tonight by Akāliko Bhikkhu.

Reflection and Recollection

Meditation isn't always about total mental silence or the complete absence of thoughts. The Buddha taught that reflection and recollection have an important role to play in the development of our meditation practice, and help incline the mind towards wholesome states that naturally lead to peace and joy.

Join Bhante Akāliko for an exploration of contemplation in the Buddha's teaching, exploring the Buddha's themes for reflection, and learn how we can utilise these in our practice.

About the teacher

Akāliko Bhikkhu is an Australian monk in the Theravada forest tradition. Bhante Akāliko first encountered Buddhism as a teenager and spent over twenty years practising with different traditions in Australia and overseas, before taking full ordination with Ajahn Brahm as his preceptor. His teaching brings the Buddha's timeless wisdom to today’s problems, helping people find peace and happiness in their lives.

He currently resides with his long-term teacher, Bhante Sujato at Lokanta Vihara, (the Monastery at the End of the World) in Sydney, Australia.
